Ex-Recall, ex-Gays Plan to Sue Today

They said they weren't going to sue, but ... they just hate it when they don't get their way. From The Post:
Suit Planned Over Sex-Ed Program in Montgomery

Two groups angered that Montgomery County public schools' new health curriculum includes a video demonstration on how to put on a condom and discussions about homosexuality say they expect to file a lawsuit in U.S. District Court today to block the lessons from being taught in Maryland's largest public school system.

John Garza, vice president of Citizens for a Responsible Curriculum, said his group -- along with Virginia-based Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays and Gays -- is seeking a temporary injunction to block teaching of the new program, which is being piloted in six Montgomery County schools this month and will be expanded to all schools next year.

"We tried to put off this as long as possible," said Steve Fisher, spokesman for Citizens for a Responsible Curriculum. "We were so hoping that our own school system would talk to us about our valid concerns. They should have sat down with us instead of ignoring us, but apparently the Board of Education is going to move forward."

...
Fisher said his group was formed in December to protest what it believes are inappropriate and unbalanced additions to the curriculum. He said the new program fails to stress abstinence, and he said discussions about homosexuality at the eighth-grade level are one-sided.

Montgomery County educators said the curriculum changes were necessary to help students protect themselves from the dangers of unprotected sexual activity. Suit Planned Over Sex-Ed Program in Montgomery

There's more. Follow the link.

Now it gets interesting. Bringing in out-of-town hatemeisters didn't do anything. Disrupting the health presentations didn't stop it. Sending crazy lying letters to parents didn't do anything. Threatening the school board didn't stop it. Thousands of bogus petition signatures ... nada. So what's left? Go to court.

How long will it be before we hear CRC -- better known as "Ex-Recall" -- chanting that popoular mantra about "liberal activist judges?" Before the end of the day? What do you think? We'll see.

...Hmmm.... would Recall's (CRC) president Michelle Turner like to change her story now? Read below the email exchange on a public listserv (Einstein HS) that was posted in January 2005. The postings below from "mnturner" are from Michelle Turner, Recall's (CRC) president then and now.

Does the words..."not truthful" come to mind?

PREVIOUS POSTINGS ON EINSTEIN LISTSERV ---between Michelle Turner, President of CRC (Recall) with Kay Romero and Chris Grewell (Teach the Facts) from January 2005 when the inquiry was made about the future lawsuit. CRC president which is Michelle Turner denied such.....

Here is what was said by the President of CRC(Recall) in January of 2005:

" I repeat-THERE IS NO CRC LEGAL ACTION TAKING PLACE AGAINST
ANYBODY!!!"

Michelle (Turner)

Read current Wash Post Article below to see if that is now the case.

Looks like the "crystal ball" from January 2005 was right after all about the future lawsuit against the school system and who would be participating in bringing the lawsuit.

There is nothing going on with the legal group. There purpose is to

MCPS documents to determine if the BoE is following its own

Mr. Garza offered-that does not constitute a lawsuit. We have people

It is amazing that a group supposedly comprised of concerned MCPS parents is taking the action of filing a lawsuit which will take precious funds out of MCPS students' classrooms and put into a courtroom instead.

"...They should have sat down with us instead of ignoring us..." claims their spokesperson in the May 3, 2005 Metro front page article in The Washington Post. Dissenting CACFLHD members who formed the ex-recall group (including members the Dobson-launched PFOX, which is also party to this lawsuit), sat on the CACFLHD - the committe that wrote the curriculum with MCPS staff - for years! Their views were heard by the committee and their offered resource materials were voted on by the committee.

Now, outvoted on the committee and in the public, they turn to the court system to seek remedy. And Jim is right. When they fail to prevail in court, we will hear about the liberal activist courts and judges, ad nauseum. But in the end, as it is in Dobson's own backyard in Colorado Springs, the good people of this county will require that comprehensive health education be taught in our schools for the good of our students.

Hello All,

You are clueless.... America has spoken up against alot of immoral issues with the past election... and in case you miss the facts on this, actually 4000+ Montgomery County Citizens are rising and speaking up against your nonsense and the BOE's nonsense. Thank goodness!!! If the BOE will not include the F-A-C-T-S and TEACH SAFETY, HEALTH F-A-C-T-S to our children... then yes a law suit is warranted. Parents are sick and tired of people such as TTF trying to corrupt our children; teaching them anything and everything under the sun that goes against families morals/religious views. You can teach what ever you want in your own home... just don't bring that nonesense into our tax paying schools. Leave it all out!!!! Your time is over.... the silent majority are finally stepping forward and speaking up for our children. I love it!!!! Hee, hee, hee... The good is prevailing.... finally!!!!! The good is prevailing....

Yes BOE/MCPS is prevailing at doing good and TTF and other community members are proud to support them.

Chalk one up for BOE/MCPS this time. Chalk one up for MCPS/BOE, TTF and other supporters for standing up and taking on Recall and their misinformative ways.

I love these comments about 4,000 signatures (not all from Mont. Co.) and the "silent majority." Let's see, about a million people in Montgomery County, 4,000 signatures, that'd be ... 4,000/1,000,000, mmm, cancel the zeroes, that's 4/1,000, that'd be four tenths of one percent of the county's population ... that's some majority!

Chalk what up for the boe/mcps, Kay? The fact that they are going to indoctrinate our kids and they think they have power over parents? Is that what you are talking about? Because your rah-rah for the boe/mcps smacks of smuggness and superiority and you have nothing to be smug or superior about. You all sound like a bunch of left wing lunatics who still can't stand it that your guy lost! GET OVER IT! And the CRC was all over the news yesterday with lots and lots of good press and you are SCARED. (Aaaww :( )

Chalk one up for BOE doing the right thing and not being bowled over by Recall (CRC) who thinks they know best for all.

Being all over the press was a good thing for TTF as Recall has now steppped in legal arena using smoke filed room tactics that will unravel in future.

I find it interesting that you are so angry on this opposition blog site. But hey won't Recall allow you to post to their blog?

Oh wait..Recall does not believe in that..might invite the truth coming out.

That may be true Anon, but we are talking about the Montgomery County Public School system and so only Montgomery County vote results that matter in this case. Just to remind you, Montgomery County voted 2-1 (66%-33%) for Kerry.

Oh, Suzie Q, you are one witty person. You think CRC's press yesterday was good???? You know, some people think getting any kind of press is good- I guess you are one of those. Kind of like Michael Jackson.

So you got 4000 signatures out of almost 1,000,000 people in MC- um, did you pay any attention to the last election in MC? It was in November, 2004- and while you seem to think the tide is turning here- 6 months ago- don't think so. Maybe you thought this was Montgomery County, Va

How much play are you actually getting from MCPS parents- not much- except for the anger when CRC sends letters to parents with addresses obtained how? CRC won't say- although two schools have asked. By the way, do your friends Steena and Retta really have kids in MCPS- where??

Have fun with your insults- when this lawsuit is thrown out like Susan Jamison's last one- you won't hink it is so funny.

Andrear... if you think you respresent the majority... you have fell off of your rocker!!! Someone's a little upset because you're starting to look like the minority. I know you have a hard time dealing with the fact the you are LOSING THIS!!!! Real parents are finally speaking up... I honestly thought you guys fell more along the lines of "Michael Jackson." You seem to think otherwise... oh, well.

Talking about signatures... how many have you produced??? Not too many huh....... if you try to lie a little harder and spread more fairy dust you can probably chock up a few more.

Get ready to pack your bags and move onto Massachussetts. They'd love you guys there.... you can speak you're nonesense there and they'd believe you. We're not buying it here in Mont. Co, Maryland. Not Virginia. Don't you know your geography??? Oh, oh... don't tell me, you took the sex ed class in school instead of geography... didn't you? You see how far it got you? You don't even know that we have a Mongtomery County here in M-A-R-Y-L-A-N-D.

You'll believe this one... I believe CRC bought the list from Jim K. So go talk to him about making the MCPS Parents angry. I received some facts from my satellite dish that he got a pretty penny for it also... see if he'll give you a cut.

Not too sure if my friends Steena and Retta have have kids in MCPS -- what does this matter??? Any person in their right mind knows that this information is not appropriate for children. Whether you have kids or not in the MCPS... if you are truly concerned for the safety, health and well being of children, you have a stake in this. No one should be disqualified from speaking on this very important matter. You guys seem to think differently... you're all about silencing those who don't agree with you, those who don't have "children" in MCPS!!!!! If someone disagrees with you... you prefer that they not speak or breath. We live in America... a democracy. Not the Wizard of OZ.

You have fun with your insults- this is the only thing you're good at. If by chance the lawsuit is thrown out they will continue press harder... the good must prevail... and will prevail with CRC!

I know you don't like that one...

Till Later,
Your best friend,
Suzie Q

Suzie,
As you love to talk about lies- Steena and Bianca/Retta claim, in newspaper letters and on blogs, that they have kids in MCPS. So why not just give an honest opinion-say as a taxpayer, you are opposed to something- it is lying to say you are concerned about your child's education when your kids are not being educated anymore.

You just keep on convincing yourself that MC is changing your way-I guess if you can ignore the election results, who are local elected officials are, you can ignore all the facts.

How in the WORLD can you claim to know that 'Steena' and Retta and I do not have children in MCPS? You are WAY off base lady. Please do not accuse people of lying Andrear. Its not becoming. Two of the 3 you mentioned DO have children in Montgomery County Public Schools and one already graduated her children. In any event, before you cast so many stones at people who you think put their children in private school (and therefore should not have a voice), why don't you take a look at people like Fishback and some others at the BOE. Fishback for one does not have any children in MCPS, but no one told him he couldn't speak up -- and goodness knows, no one could stop him if they tried!

And last time I checked, this is America. And even people who already graduated their children are entitled to still be concerned about the education they are paying for -- that their grandchildren and neighbors and friends are receiving.

How about people who have pre-schoolers? Are they not entitled to be concerned about the eduaction their children will be getting in a few years time?

Of course they are - they all are.
And NO ONE I KNOW has ever LIED about having or not having kids in this school system. It is a silly argument -- please do not take that as an attack.
