Lots of Petitions Signed Today

Every time somebody signs one of our petitions online, an email gets forwarded to me, and my computer dings. You gotta know, this morning it's been dinging like crazy. Thanks to all of you who are uniting to oppose the CRC's attempt to undermine Montgomery County values.

If you want to sign the petition online, go to Teach the Facts ACTION Page.

Thanks to you all -- Keep up the good fight
Jim (and all of us at TeachTheFacts.org)

Simple laws of physics right? For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.

Well, maybe not in a county that unlike the rest of the country, voted two to one (66%-33%) for Kerry. I expect the reaction to today's lawsuit to be much bigger than the lawsuit itself.

Undermine Montgomery County values???... This explains your group to the tee. Your group stands for undermining us parents of Montomery County. You are attempting to undermine our values and/or religious beliefs we may hold. You have no right or place to do this.... the silent majority have been slowly rising up and speaking out against this curriculum. I know you get a sense of this. Can your organization produce 4000+ signatures for this curriculum??? I think not. You accuse the other group, CRC, for lying. I have found that after reading your information and your bloggs... your better suited to hold this title or should I same name. Teach the Facts (TTF) has no facts to teach... Teaching the Lies (TTL) better suites your group. You should consider changing your name.

Thanks for nothing TTL....

Are you assuming that TTF is not made up of parents, etc.. in Montgomery County when you talk about this group undermining parents in Montgomery County?

The majority clearly favors the curriculum. That is what has Recall(CRC) hopping mad. The fact they cannot get all to believe their hooey is hard for them to swallow.

If you think this blog of TTF is lying.....then why are you reading it and posting on it?

Just curious.....

Just trying to correct you blatant misrepresentations is all. And frankly, the only people I see that are "hopping mad" are you people at TTF.

Just as Recall is trying to correct the health curriculum?

At least TTF encourages the oppostion to post their disagreements and you seem to be doing that "freely..."

Good for TTF.....for being open and informative.

Kay R... why are you referencing Recall? What does Recall have to do with this? Do you mean Citizens for a Responsible Curriculum? If so, you can't even get the name of the other group right.... get the facts right. My goodness... you are supposed to be Teaching the Facts... get the facts straight and correct.

"At least TTF encourages the oppostion to post their disagreements and you seem to be doing that "freely..." Ohhhhh... here we go... tit-for-tat... "At least this, and at least that"... grow up. Can we talk about the real issues here?

No TTF.....is not being open and informative. You are certainly open and informative with misrepresentations. You are very good at doing this.

You all make the assumption that CRC is made up of pfox and religious fanatics... this is far from the facts. Do your homework? That group is made up of people of all nationalities and backgrounds; parents, taxpayers, grandparents, students, and citizens, to name a few groups. No one is pushing their religious views (should they hold one) on anyone.

No, the majority does not hold your views. I don't know where you get the information that the majority agrees with this curriculum. I honestly believe there are alot more parents out there that have not idea or clue on what our lovely BOE has approved to be taught to their children... if they did, all hell would break loose. Again, can you produce 4000+ signatures? I THINK NOT!!!

Regarding the majority... why is the Citizens Advisory Committee so unbalanced and biased as well? This group is comprised of well over 3/4ths of the members being pro gay instruction. How can this group represent everyone... when it's heavily unbalanced?

Can we please stay on these issues
Kay R.?

Did you notice what happened when at the meetings with health teachers about the curriculum in general and the pilot in particular?
Recall was expecting to have a massive showing of parents saying that the curriculum was so outrageous that they could not even hear about it. They sent a letter in which the only word that coincide with what the actual curriculum says is "curriculum," (which I understand, because clearly quoting the curriculum wouldn't be as scary as needed), they (or some other with similar intend) sent a bunch of postcards -thanks for the postage there!-.
Funny enough, each time you go to the ACTUAL parents of MCPS with your fabricated story and your paranoia, it seriously backfires, because most of us do not hold your views of the issue. It's that simple. I would be on the barricades with you if, given this is so serious for you, you were forced to take the course the majority is going to take...But you get choices, and, by the way, I would also advocate that -provided as you expect, that thousands of kids will not opt in to the curriculum- MCPS should even provide classroom instruction as another choice, beside the independent studies, if in any school there are enough kids to form a group under MCPS rules (I think the magic number is 25, but I'm not sure).
Parents are not even attending the health meetings, as it has been always, despite the campaign you have mounted, and the pilot was going to start without any problem.
Then came the rain... I meant the lawsuit...if one doesn't get it one way, one trys the other.

By the way, it would help if you try to remember the name you use to sign, because you just made a mistake referring to another post that supposedly was sign by someone going by a different name. Is that the same way you counted the signatures? Is that how you work on your 'majority'?

Mrs. Lopez, parent,
Anything that is not gay bashing is pro-gay? I get it now. That is the same story people have used all through history whenever any group was said to be fully equal of human rights and tolerance- women, Jews, Blacks, almost any new immigrant groups. If you were for their rights- you were pro-Them- instead of just being pro-people and tolerance- and oh, yes, Loving one's neighbor as oneself.

I sure would like to see a few "parents" where their kids go to MCPS schools- esp those who claim they have kids in MCPS schools.
